It is also widely used in the civil areas because of its small size, flexible storage space, low cost and the like. Unlike the mechanical hard disk, the FlashOnDisk can be turned on and off frequently without causing damage. DMA, i.e. direct memory access, means the computer peripherals (mainly referred to as hard disks) can exchange data with EMS directly so as to accelerate the reading and writing speed of hard disks and to enhance data transmission rate. The operating process goes like this: first right click my computer, select property, click and select the item of hardware, click equipment manager and open it, then click the branch item of IDE ATA/ATAPI controller, select both channels of IDE controller ,i.e. the primary channel IDE' and the secondary channel IDE, then enter into property and advanced setting', when the dialog box displays the transmission mode of the devices connecting with the present IDE interface, check the menu of transmission mode, set all of them as DMA(if appropriate) and finally click ok.
